First edition (print number not stated) oversized hardcover copy of Part Seen, Part Imagined: Meaning & Symbolism in the Work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh & Margaret Macdonald by Timothy Neat (Canongate Press, 1994). A rare book examining the art and symbolic meanings behind the works of Mackintosh, Mcdonald and “The Glasgow Four”. Steeped in mysticism, spirituality, Rosicrucianism and other ideologies, Neat provided a detailed deconstruction and appreciation for these transcendent artists.
Jacket now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with rubbing/scuffing to faces and shelf wear around the edges - including chipping, creasing and small tears. Foxing and scuffing to interior or dj. Foxing to outer edges of text block and interior of a few pages as well. Boards slightly worn, especially around edges and corners. Binding is firm and spine is straight. Soiling to some pages, mostly limited to outer edges, though some have more blemishes towards the interior. See photos.
