Antique 1900's Engraved Brass Jewelry Casket with key
An Old Family Piece that I own. It's an intricate designed and I believe brass. It is heavy.
Weighing 3.8 pounds.
I found two different makers of this same design Erhard and Söhne, and George Leykauf. The only differences I've found between the two makers are the Locks on the front. I believe this is a Leykauf. Full Brace Jewelry Casket with Key for Lock
This Jewelry Casket/ Box features the raised beautiful floral patterns as shown on all sides.
Swing handle to the top and a swing hasp type front hinged, the key is included. The lock and key are only for show. As this box was used to show status in the home.
We are looking around the early 1900's as a date estimate.
Patina to the outer surfaces as shown. It could be cleaned if the buyer wishes to bring back the brilliant shine. I know most buyers like to see the age and it's got it.
